flowers.

“The Gentle Gardener

I’d like to leave but daffodils to mark my little way,
To leave but tulips red and white behind me as I stray;
I’d like to pass away from earth and feel I’d left behind
But roses and forget-me-nots for all who come to find.

I’d like to sow the barren spots with all the flowers of earth,
To leave a path where those who come should find but gentle mirth;
And when at last I’m called upon to join the heavenly throng
I’d like to feel along my way I’d left no sign of wrong.

And yet the cares are many and the hours of toil are few;
There is not time enough on earth for all I’d like to do;
But, having lived and having toiled, I’d like the world to find
Some little touch of beauty that my soul had left behind.”  – Edward Guest

silence.

“Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is the silence in us, not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken criticism or hard withdrawal. The sort of silence that is a place of refuge, of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are. We are all hungry for this other silence. It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond the moment, a strength on which to build a life. Silence is a place of great power and healing.”  – Rachel Naomi Remen

please.

It must be said.

I’ve lived in many places over many years.

And have never, ever experienced such awful behaviors anyplace else.

Awful customer service.

An in your face, confrontational attitude.

what IS it about folks here that makes them so violent?

PLEASE help me get out of this place.

I came back east to help my dad and he’s gone.

I want to live in a place where people are kind to each other.

Where I feel safe.
